We recently moved from direct attached storage to an iSCSI volume for a shared file server. It is running Windows 2008r2 and using the Microsoft iSCSI software initiator to connect to a HP P4000 SAN. Everything appears to be working fine except for DFS.
We had previously used DFS to connect to bring photos together from 5 locations with great success. However, when we made to changeover we were no longer able to get DFS to replicate. I actually do not even see the DfsrPrivate folder anymore on folders that are on the iSCSI volume.
I have deleted and recreated the namespace and replication group many times. I have uninstalled DFS from the server and re installed it. No luck.
Just for testing I setup a share on the C:\ drive (which is DAS) and setup a namspace and replication group and it worked exactly like it should. It is just a when using the iSCSI volume.
I have tried to view the backlog to see if there is at least communication between the two and it gives me the error shown below.
[ERROR] Cannot find DfsrReplicatedFolderConfig object. Possible reasons:
+ The replicated folder is not configured on the member
+ Access is denied to its configuration information
[ERROR] Replicated folder <Photos> not found. Err: -2147217406 (0x80041002)
Operation Failed
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
