DFS Namespace will speed the file access?

Hi All,

 I have setup  a domain based DFS namespace (in 2000 mode) that has 1 targeted folders within it.DFS root namespace is hosted by two servers. One in Branch1 server and Branch2 server

Namespace: \\Domain.com\Team$\Test

Test folder share is actually in our NAS ( \\NAS\Test)

Without replicating the data to Branch2

 Can we find the performance? ( Speed)

Do you need the Replication?
