Is there any details about how storage spaces works? I created my first storage pool on 4 drives
1 - 1 TB Drive
2 - 2 TB Drives
1 - 1.5 TB Drive
So far i have just created a 2TB Virtual Disk. I see each of the 4 disk using 684 GB of disk. No matter if i delete or add data i seem the same usage which says to me storage spaces allocates all of the space upfront? Does the same thing happen with mirroring or does this just happen with Parity?
I added another 1.5TB disk to the pool and in two days i haven't seen any data being written to this disk. Maybe i won't until i create a new virtual disk?
One thing that suprised me was storage spaces was allocating the same amount of space on each disk independent of its size. Will this start to change or will my 1TB drive (the smallest one) essentially limit me so for 4 drives i would be limited to 4TB of data
I have just 1 Virtual Disk so far. When will i start to see low space warnings? I have allocated 2 TB so far and have 4.6 TB left to allocate. When the data actually starts to get close to the space i have on the drives or when i allocate almost the entire space used in the pool (assuming storage spaces pre-allocates).
