Hello everybody,
I'm planning to migrate a clustered file server with two nodes and Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition to a new infrastructure storage with Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition; here there're specifications:
- Old Storage -
- Two Nodes with Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition; cluster service active/passive with several File Share e Disk Resources shared between nodes;
- One Storage based on HP EVA Series, with three LUN's dedicated, (Office, Administration, Call Center);
- File Service with quota management and quota templates installed;
- New Storage -
- Two nodes with Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition; cluster service active/passive
- One Storage based on HP X5000 series, with several enclosure disks;
- File Service with quota management and quota templates installed;
Infrastructures are in the same domain; I would migrate every cluster resources, folders, and quotas from Windows 2003 to Window2 2008 Storage; what're best practices for migration? I should create the three LUN's also in new storage, like old configuration,
or I can create a single LUN and then migrate all data inside it?
I would use in Windows 2008 R2 use Cluster Wizard Migration and dirquota tool to export all quotas, and I'm reading this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754481(v=ws.10).aspx
Migration from two storages is totally supported? Anyone know possible issues about it?
Thank you everybody for support
Regards
